I met Erin through my sister. We chatting here and there online and a few years ago finally were able to meet with each other. We got together and did Erin's maternity/family photos last year and they were looking to update those with their uber cutie, Daniel. We had to reschedule numerous times because of weather but I am soo happy with the beautiful day we got. It was definitely worth the wait! I was pretty inspired by a local photographer that I follow (check her out here.) when she did a sunrise session back in the winter. I am always looking to try new things with my photography and was excited to make it a give away at the same time! The original winner wasn't able to attend the session so it fell on the only other entry and that was Kim. I've "known" Kim for a little while now. And by "know" I mean I have been following her work, she is also a local photographer. It wasn't until recently that we connected through Facebook. Kim and her husband Aaron have a 2.5 yr old beautiful daughter and a new little 5 month old baby boy so being able to connect just them and watching the sun rise was awesome. I had a lot of fun on this session, the light was amazing, the frost on the ground was beautiful and Kim and Aaron were an easy pair to capture! I am privileged to know this family and it has been wonderful getting to know them even better over the last few years as we shared the same small group. Last year Laura and I would meet weekly and pray for our families, other families and anything that came to our hearts as we prayed. I miss those times dearly and hoping to start up again soon! I don't usually do birthday parties but I could not pass up the opportunity to capture darling Miss. Ava's birthday. Amber graciously said that I could bring my littles along if I wanted to as well. I ended up bringing my daughter Abigail as she's the oldest and would the one that didn't need me the entire time. Ava had a blast and I think some of the adults enjoyed colouring more than the kids! I have known Brandy since high school, that my friends is over 10 years! I feel old. I digress. I love when I get to connect with old friends through my photography not only with them but to see how they have grown and see their family as well. We met at one of my favourite locations in the Fort Langley area. The morning was crisp but beautiful. Enjoy. I first met Amber and her family about a year and a half ago, I was recommended through a mutual friend of ours. At the time Amber was pregnant and needing some maternity/family photos done. Then after her darling Miss. Ava was born I did her newborn photos as well. I was really excited when Amber contacted me about a cake smash and capturing her 1st birthday party as well. I had never done a cake smash before but I love learning and challenging myself in my photography. Ava loved the cake and had a blast getting her little cute paws and mouth covered in cake! It has been a while, after the loss of our baby I decided to take a long break and focus more on my own family. Since that decision I have had an amazing time refocusing and just capturing our own everyday moments and taking many adventures. |
